On-Line Payment Questions Most Frequently Asked By Consumers

Where do I find my CBC Packet Number?
Your CBC Packet Number is located at the top of any correspondence you have received from us.

Does my credit report get updated when I make a payment?
Yes, it will. The credit reporting agencies are notified monthly of any payments you make to CBC, but it can take up to 90 days for the repositories to update their files.

Is it safe to send credit card or checking account information through the internet?
Absolutely. Close to 100 percent of the visitors to the Credit Bureau Central web site use Netscape Navigator, Microsoft Internet Explorer or their variations as their web browser software. This software supports SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption.

To verify that your software supports the secure transfer of encrypted information, look at the bottom left-hand corner of your screen if you use Netscape Navigator. You will see a small key if the page is secure, a broken key if the page is not secure. On Microsoft Internet Explorer, look at the bottom right-hand corner. A lock icon will display if your page is secure. Only pages that involve sensitive data are usually encrypted, such as our payment pages in this area.

If your browser does not support SSL then you can download the latest versions of Internet Explorer at http://www.microsoft.com/ie/ or Netscape Navigator at http://home.netscape.com. Alternatively, you may also make payments by mail or in person.

How long does it take for my account to be updated?

Payments can be verified by calling Credit Bureau Central at (702) 871-6122 or 1-877-225-3278. You can also check on-line by using the Check a Payment form provided.
