Alternate Directions for obtaining a copy of your credit file:
Credit Bureau Central is no longer processing requests for copies of your personal credit report. That responsibility has been taken over by Trans Union, and you will need to contact them directly. There are three ways you can contact them. You can call Trans Union’s credit report request line at (800) 888-4213, and their automated system will walk you through the process. Another option is to make your request on the Internet by visiting www.transunion.com; or you can request a copy by mail by writing to:

If you decide to make your request in writing we suggest you check Trans Union’s website or call first to find out the fee involved as well as the other information that you will need to send them.
 
Directions for filing disputes.
Credit Bureau Central is no longer processing disputed information contained in your personal credit report. That responsibility has been taken over by Trans Union, and you will need to contact them directly. When you receive a copy of your credit report, you should also receive an investigation form that you can fill out to submit your dispute. If you have not received your credit report, but would like to dispute information, you should send a list of the items being disputed, include the company name, account number and reason why, along with your name, address, social security number, signature, home phone, and date of birth to:

It could take up to 30 days to complete the investigation, once it is completed you will receive written results. You may also visit their website at www.transunion.com.

Warning:  Under FCRA laws, any person who knowingly and willfully obtains information on a consumer from a Credit Reporting Agency under false pretenses (for example getting a credit report on an individual without their permission), shall be fined under Title 18 United States Code, or imprisoned for not more than 2 years, or both.
